Description

In FiveM, checkpoints can serve two purposes:

1. Roleplay Markers:

• Guiding Players:  These are often essential visual markers placed strategically throughout the map to guide players toward specific locations or objectives within a roleplay scenario. For example, a server might place checkpoints to direct players to a gang meeting spot, a hidden drug lab, or a specific event location.
• Event Triggers:  In some cases, checkpoints might be linked to server-side scripts that trigger specific actions or events when a player enters the checkpoint area. This could involve starting a cutscene, spawning NPCs, or initiating dialogue options related to the roleplay scenario.

2. Gameplay Mechanics (Racing or Objective-Based Servers):

• Race Checkpoints:  On servers with racing elements, checkpoints become essential gameplay elements. These checkpoints mark the designated path that racers must follow during a race. Typically, scripts will track players passing through each checkpoint and determine the race winner based on completion time.
• Objective Completion:  In some objective-based game modes outside of racing. Checkpoints might mark specific locations players need to reach to complete a task or trigger the next stage of the objective. This could be use for roleplay scenarios involving deliveries. Heists, or even search and rescue missions.
